Learner goals and capabilities

Engage with third-year students from the Leadership and Management diploma program as they explore how innovation and emerging technologies can inspire creative business solutions. These students bring a diverse skill set that includes management, accounting, global business, global citizenship, organizational behaviour, economics, supply chain, customer relationship management, business research, ethics and EDI, marketing, and leadership.

While these business majors are not technology specialists, they are familiar with platforms like Hootsuite (social media management platform), Salesforce (CRM), MsOffice (Word,PPT, Excel, Access, Outlook and collaborating with these via 365), some students may have gained skills in Weebly/Wix website development, Envision (consumer insights by Environics Analytics), Shopify (online store), social media (TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube), and Google Analytics. Students are often able to learn a new technology quickly and easily based on what they have already learned and achieved in their studies.

This semester, we are offering students a selection of real-world challenges to choose from. You’re invited to submit a project idea aligned with your organization’s goals. Students will dedicate 40-80 hours over approximately 10 weeks (mid-Sept. to early Dec.) to researching, planning, and developing innovative recommendations in response to your proposed challenge.
