communicationDo you want to enhance your delivery of digital content? In this assignment, student-consultants in McMaster's Web Design certificate program will work in teams to either design, redesign or optimize an existing company web site, webpage, or app.
In addition to the normal design associated in this tasks, groups will design an enhanced user registration and message board. A basic e-commerce design can be added or changed depending on your organization's needs.
Learners
The final project deliverables will include:
- A prototype of your CMS Project.
- A 30-minute presentation on research, findings, and justifications of the proposed design.

Requirements
A Content Management System (CMS) is a software application that is used to create and manage digital content. Based on your organizations goals, students will apply skills in consumer research, design and testing to create a CMS that achieves your goals.
Project tasks include:
- Holding a discovery meeting to understand your needs and develop a project scope.
- Interviewing users to gather applicable design specs.
- Conducting user testing to understand and optimize existing design challenges.
- Applying design thinking theory and practices to create a prototype.
Example projects include, but are not limited to:
- Redesigning an existing website, webpage, or app.
- Designing a new website, webpage, or app.
- Optimizing a specific part of a website, webpage, or app
